Part living history museum, part environmental education center, the Newlin Grist Mill is a perfect combination of Delco’s heritage and beauty. The 160-acre park that surrounds the ground’s twelve historic structures offers eight miles of hiking trails, pond and stream fishing, and native plant gardens.
Guided tours of the 1704 Grist Mill are available daily, but there are also scheduled demonstrations of other 18th century skills and trades such as woodturning, paper making, candle making, and more. While there is an admission cost for the mill tour, there is no charge to hike the trails or have a picnic by the creek, making it the perfect place “to mill about” for an afternoon.
