Delco’s Fantastic Fall Festivals

Mark your calendars, grab your family and friends, and get ready for a fall season filled with festivals, live music, cultural and historical events, community celebrations, and more.  Celebrate it all this season in Delco. 

 

 

 

Dining Under the Stars (thru Sept. 28)

Every Wednesday the Borough closes State Street to vehicular traffic from 5-11pm.  This allows Media’s great restaurants and shops to set up outside for the biggest, most fun, alfresco shopping and dining event around.

Linvilla Orchards’ Pumpkinland (September 16 – November 5)

An annual trip to Pumpkinland has been a family tradition for generations of Delaware County residents and visitors. Larger-than-life figures and scarecrows illustrate the legends and lore of the harvest season, featuring local history and some of the many stories of pumpkins and apples.

 

St. George Greek Orthodox Church:  Taste of Greece (September 21-24)

Homemade meals and desserts, music, traditional dance performances and more!

Swarthmore Town Center Food Truck-A-Thon (September 22)

The Swarthmore Co-Op holds one of the most beloved events of the year. A variety of food trucks and vendors will be on hand for patrons to enjoy amazing food and drinks, live music and more during this town takeover.

Fine Arts and Crafts Festival (September 23) – CANCELLED

Presented by the Community Arts Center, this free event features artists and crafters lining Swarthmore Town Center’s Park Avenue. Festival-goers can delight in the open, friendly atmosphere, and the opportunity to meet and speak with artists.

Philly Fall Nature Fest (September 23)

John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum hosts this free event for people of all ages to discover great natural and community resources. Festival activities include archery, live animal demonstrations, guided walks, trolley tours, music, kid’s crafts, and more!

South Wayne Porchfest (September 24)

Neighbors, friends, musicians, and fans are invited to experience a day of friendship, fun, and free music played on the porches of private homes in South Wayne.

Upper Providence Township Community Day (September 24) – CANCELLED

Held Rose Tree Park, featuring food and family friendly events, local displays, music, fire demonstrations with the Rose Tree Fire Company UPT Police Department canine skills demonstrations and more.

Sterling Pig Brewery Oktoberfest (September 29 & 30)

You don’t have to go all the way to Munich to celebrate Oktoberfest, join Sterling Pig in Media for two days full of beer, music, games, and German foods!

Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation:  Fall Fest (September 30)

Celebrate the fall season with the Plantation’s first annual fall fest! Enjoy colonial brewing demonstrations, cider pressing, pottery, music, and more.

Linvilla Orchards Apple Festival (September 30)

Taste all the delicious varieties of Linvilla apples with apple samplings, apple pie-eating contests, fresh Farm Market treats and Pick Your Own apples.  Corn Maze, Straw bale Maze, Hayrides, Train rides, Pony rides, face painting and more!

Penn State Master Gardeners of Delaware County Fall Fest (September 30)

Fall fun for the whole family at Smedley Park . Marketplace, plant sale, gardening info, classes, and presentations for everyone, including all levels and gardening interests!

Upper Darby International Festival (September 30)

Celebrate Upper Darby’s rich cultural diversity through food, live performances, and activities for the whole family. Featuring a main stage for a roster of cultural performances, including dancing, martial arts, and music.

Yachtstock River Jam (September 30)

One of the region’s largest outdoor charity music festivals featuring 24 bands on 2 stages at the West End Boat Club on the scenic Delaware River.

Derby at the Vineyard (September 30 & October 1)

Penns Woods Winery hosts spectacular horse jumping event in the vineyard with wine, local beer & cider, live music all day long, food trucks, artisan vendors plus a chance for the kids to get up close to the stars of the show at the meet & greet station!

Delco Arts Week (September 30 – October 8)

Enjoy a week-long festival that celebrates and showcases the creative artists and vibrant cultural institutions of Delaware County.  Visitors and residents alike will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of events as Delco artists and performers share their talents and love of the arts.

Lansdowne Arts on the Avenue Festival (October 1)

Showcasing Lansdowne’s ongoing commitment to the arts, the Lansdowne Arts on the Avenue Festival features 70+ juried artists, live music, performances, demonstrations, activities for the kids, food trucks and a beer garden.

Tyler Arboretum’s:  Fall Fireside (October 5)

Bring your family and meet your friends for a cozy, after-hours adventure through the scenic property, where nature’s beauty meets the warmth of community. Take a stroll during the crisp fall evening, grab food and drinks, visit four photo-op stations and the large art display in the barn, take a walk through Tyler history, and check out the harvest season in the edible garden.

Fall Into the Arts Festival (October 7)

Darlington Arts Center and Concord Township come together to celebrate and showcase local artists! Purchase art made by Delco-based artists, listen to the sounds of local musicians, and enjoy food and drink from local businesses.

Newlin Grist Mill Fall Harvest Festival (October 7)

A festival featuring history skills and trades demonstrations, as well as fun activities for kids of all ages. This year’s theme “Food Traditions Past and Present” will highlight foods and cooking from the 18th century.

Haverford Township Day (October 7)

A community celebration that includes a parade, live music and entertainment, great food, flea market and craft fair.

Brandywine Battlefield Park:  Patriot’s Day (October 7)

Learn what life was like for soldiers and camp followers during the Revolutionary War from period reenactors. See military drills and firing demonstrations, colonial trades, and tours of historic buildings.

Media’s State Street Fall Festival (October 8)

State Street in downtown Media will be alive with a mix of food, music, artists, crafters, nonprofits, and family fun.  Rain date October 15th.

Main Streets of Ridley Park Fall Festival & Car Show (October 8)

Bring your friends and neighbors for a day full of family fun, with live entertainment, car show, craft vendors and delicious food!

DELCO Nite Market (October 10)

Inspired by Africa’s and Asia’s lively outdoor markets, these monthly, roving, festivals celebrate up-and-coming neighborhoods and showcase Delco’s diverse entrepreneurial and culinary landscapes and vibrant arts and culture scene.

Garrett Williamson Harvest Festival (October 14)

Event features hayrides, live musical performances, pumpkin decorating, barn animal encounters, a straw maze, bounce houses, garden activities, nature hikes, face painting, food trucks and a gift card raffle!

Haverford First Fest Music Festival & Crafter Village (October 14)

Honoring Firefighters, Police, Military, Medical, EMS and all who are all on the front lines.  2 Stages – 20 bands and performers.   FREE Admission, Live Music, Beer Garden, Food, Vendors, Crafter Village, Kids Fun Zone.

Jasper Street Jam (October 14)

Join Media Arts Council (MAC) the for their Second Saturday Block Party!   Bring a chair, a friend to dance with, and an empty stomach to sample local fare and beverages.

Marple Newtown Community Days Fall Festival (October 14) 

A day filled with family fun activities, food vendor, local retail vendors – and more!  Fireworks at dusk.

Prospect Park Food & Music Festival (October 14)

Enjoy a day full of yummy food, great music, and lots of fun activities at Park Square. 

Upper Chichester Community Day (October 15)

The festivities will kick off with a parade showcasing the talent and diversity of our community followed by a day of fun, food, music, contests, games, and family entertainment!

The Great Pumpkin Carve (October 19, 20 & 21)

A three day ‘Chadds Ford tradition’ where over 70 giant pumpkins are carved by local artists on Thursday and will be lit and displayed on Friday & Saturday. All three nights enjoy a ‘kid friendly’ Haunted Trail, raffle prizes, live music, food local craft beer, wine and more!

Providence Animal Center’s Bark in the Park (October 21)

Walk or run in this unique dog-friendly 5K at Rose Tree Park.  After the walk, enjoy a Fall Festival that includes a vaccine & microchipping clinic, dog contests, food trucks pet portraits, local business vendors, tons of raffle baskets, music, arts & crafts and so much more.

Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation:  17th Century Day (November 4)

The Americas have been mapped and explored for more than a century and the great Continental powers have staked their claims to the new territory.  Witness a period of our history that shows the expanding horizons of both Europe and America.

Swarthmore Fall Makers Market (November 5)

An open-air market featuring 90+ local artisans and makers and their handmade creations. The market also features live music, food vendors and trucks, kids’ crafts courtesy of local shops, and more.

Linvilla Orchards Arts & Crafts Festival (November 4 & 5)

This annual event features live musical performances and an opportunity to shop for that unique find by browsing a variety of handmade wood crafts, jewelry, photography, candles and more! Bring the family for a fun-filled day that everyone will enjoy.
