3 Delicious Ways to Transform Thanksgiving Leftovers

Sure, you can make a mile-high sammie with all those leftovers, but how about something that will have your family (especially those lingering guests) begging for more.

Think outside the soups, stews and endless sandwiches with these three creative takes on Thanksgiving leftovers from one of our favorite go-tos, Savor.

Loaded Thanksgiving Nachos

And by loaded, we mean the entire spread. Mashed potatoes? Yup. Turkey? Of course. Sprinkle on Brussels sprouts, butternut squash — basically all the leftover veggies — white cheddar cheese, and then repeat. Did we mention it’s two layers of leftover goodness atop tortilla chips? Finish with jalapeños and then drizzle with gravy. If that’s not enough, use up the cranberry sauce, sour cream and parsley as garnishes.

Leftover Ham and Cheese Pull-Apart Sliders

Every year we wonder how we end up with leftover dinner rolls. It could be because we always think, “one more bag won’t hurt.” Well pick up some shredded Swiss cheese and put them to good use along with that extra ham and cranberry sauce. All it takes is a few other pantry ingredients (think mayo, butter, dijon mustard, garlic and parsley) and you’re ready to roll. (Get it? Sliders? Ready to roll?!)

Another thing we love about this simple recipe: It’s made in a 9”x13” baking dish — a one-dish meal that makes 12 hot and ready to gobble up sliders.

Holiday Leftover Breakfast Casserole

Did you notice that the “sliders” how-to video also included a second recipe for Holiday Leftover Breakfast Casserole? Here’s why we love that recipe, too:

Breakfast for dinner is a thing, particularly at the holidays. As is brunch, and this stellar use of leftovers will fill hungry tummies with happiness. It’s a make-ahead dish, so it takes the pressure off of having to get up and cook; instead, it’s waiting in the refrigerator for you and yours to easily enjoy.

This dish includes everything we’re obsessed with for breakfast or brunch — eggs, two kinds of cheese and bread — plus it, like the other recipe in the video (the sliders) it is made in a 9”x13” baking dish. It’s another excellent way to use up leftover bread and ham.
