11th Annual Pirate Festival on the Delaware Riverside
The Marcus Hook Preservation Society invites all landlubbers to join their celebration of Delco’s Pirate Roots on the banks of the Delaware River!
If you’ve never been to a Pirate Festival, Marcus Hook is famous for its annual end-of-summer Pirate Encampment. Tour period tents, watch lifestyle and weapons demonstrations, and browse showcases featuring their wares, including samples of battle gear, cannons and beer making.
Pirates can put a grouchy husband or wayward teen in actual ‘stocks’ and little ones will love interacting with pirate historians, sea dogs and scalleywags! There’s a fiery landing party battle, plus family activities like games, food, live pirate music, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, crafters, a lively beer garden and much more.
All funds raised go towards the ongoing restoration project of the historic Plank House, aka Blackbeard’s Mistress’s House. The Marcus Hook Preservation Society is the owner and caretaker of this one of a kind, hand-sawn plank log house and plan to restore it to museum quality. So gather your mates and join them in Marcus Hook.
