Take a Holiday Stroll at Rose Tree Park
One of Delaware County’s most beautiful and popular parks is Rose Tree Park in Media. And it is never more beautiful than during the holiday season when thousands of lights glitter and twinkle on dozens of trees, while striking hand painted displays and over-sized cartoon characters thrill children, reminding adults of holidays past. In fact, according to the park’s woodland whisperers, Snoopy & the Peanuts gang have made a few new friends this year who will delight visitors of all ages!
This year’s Festival officially opens on Friday, December 6th at 7pm, with fanfare, music, and a warm seasonal welcome by the Park Board and representatives of Delaware County Council which sponsors this free event every year.
The Springton Lake Middle School Select Choir will perform and there will be complimentary hot chocolate and coffee, courtesy of Acme Markets. Santa’s arrival signals the illumination of the trees – so be sure to stick around for selfies!
This popular park consists of 122 acres of forest and meadows, with park benches, picnic tables, a gazebo, a nature trail, an outdoor amphitheater, and three historical buildings in the park. The Old Rose Tree Tavern is on the National Register of Historic Places and is the current home of Visit Delco, PA, the County’s tourism agency.
The holiday trees are lit nightly from 5:30 to 9:30pm and the parking is free. For more information please call 610-891-4455 or visit www.co.delaware.pa.us
