The Brandywine River Museum of Art invites you to participate in a series of exciting family programs centered on the art of Storytelling!
Enjoy 3 fun, creative and thoughtful Museum Explorers Family Workshops featuring appearances by award-winning children’s book illustrators with interactive gallery and art activities. They are designed for children ages 2 to 8, accompanied by their grownups. The dates are Thursdays, July 11th, 18th, and 25th, from 10 to 11am. Each date is free for members; non-members are $5 per child, with one adult admitted free per child.
- Nifty Nature with Jennifer Hansen Rolli – Rolli is an author and illustrator who also painted the illustrations for her books.
- Creative Characters with Gene Barretta – From pirates to pigs, seek out traditional and unusual portrait subjects and assemble an original 3-D character worthy of a storybook. Barretta’s books for young readers include biographies of Muhammed Ali, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy.
- Fantastic Journeys with David Wiesner – Take an adventure trek through the Museum seeking inspiration for a fantastical craft. Wiesner is a three-time winner of the Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children. His titles include Tuesday, The Three Pigs, Flotsam and Mr. Wuffles!
