There are very few House & Garden Tours offered at Stoneleigh, the newest garden to be part of “America’s Garden Capital: 36 Gardens within 30 Miles.” So don’t miss the opportunity to peek inside the former home of three generations of the Haas family, of global chemical giant Rohn & Haas fame. The 90-minute tour is March 14th, 10 to 11:30am.
With spring around the corners, staff and volunteers are working hard to perfect the landscape and gardens, leaving little time to do guided tours of the beautiful, stately house that rises above the beautiful grounds.
Historic architecture, towering trees, and evolving native plant landscapes will be highlighted in this guided exploration of Stoneleigh, along with the Main House, which is generally closed to visitors.
In 2016, the Haas family donated Stoneleigh to Natural Lands to protect it forever. The Tudor Revival mansion at Stoneleigh now serves both as home to the Organ Historical Society—an organization that celebrates, preserves, and studies the pipe organ in America, including one that the organization has installed in the house—and a space for a wide variety of programs.
