On October 6th witness a Clash of the Titans: Mad Poets meet foodies, crafters, and great bands on the streets of Media!

October 2019

The Mad Poets Festival returns to Media this year on October 6th from noon to 5pm. The readings will take place in the Mansion Parlor of Media Borough Hall, located at 3rd and Jackson Streets. Wickedly enough, that’s the same day as the town’s 39th Annual Media Food & Crafts Festival which runs from 10am to 5pm. Resistance is futile because it’s impossible to resist this cool and quirky twofer: Get lost in the literary talents of more than 40 poets, and then be lured onto the streets of Media where unique and beautiful arts and crafts will magically lure money right out of your wallet. ( NOTE: This event is also the same day as Media’s Food and Crafts Festival which brings thousands to Delco’s County Seat to savor the outstanding global flavors of Media’s restaurants while also getting a jump on holiday shopping at the town’s retail boutiques and by browsing booths featuring gorgeous hand-made crafts.)

BUT…that’s not all that the Mad Poets Society has up its sleeve! Saturday, October 19th they invite you to the 50th Mad Poets Bonfire – a free outdoor event for poets, songwriters, musicians, drummers, and anyone who loves poetry and music.

  • WHERE – Ridley Creek State Park, Area # 12. At dusk, there’s a huge outdoor open mike and poets & musicians welcome!
  • WHEN: At 3:30pm there will be a poetry workshop led by former Bucks County Poet Laureate Bernadette McBride
  • ENTERTAINMENT FOLLOWS:
    • Wirewalkers from The Funicular Circus will perform while reciting poetry at approximately 5 pm
    • A Percussion & Drum Circle led by Christine Campbell starts around 6 pm
  • At dusk the Poets’ 50th Bonfire begins with an open mic for poets, musicians, actors, drummers, audience & S’Mores!
