Great Valentine Dates & More

Whether you’re single or part of a couple, here are some amazing ideas for Valentine’s Fun:  Get locked in a room…roll some dice…try your hand at 18th century courtship…plan a Belgian Chocolate Brunch or a ‘Grape’ Date at a local Vineyard.                                                           

 XSCAPE the Room’s first annual Valentine’s Day Adventure that’s just for singles.  First, they’ll lock you in a room with other singles… (Sounds good so far, right?)  The evening kicks off with a mixer in Xscape The Room’s beautiful atrium where you’ll enjoy beer, lite fare and good conversation with other single adults.  (Must be 21 and over).  At 7 pm sharp, you’ll break off into teams and play either The Speakeasy or The Classroom.  These games promote team work and lots of communication as you search for clues and use them to solve riddles, problems and puzzles that will lead to your escape.   You may just find more than your way out.   

Penns Woods Winery in Chadds Ford is hosting a Date Night!  

It is $75 per couple and includes: 

  • 1 Bottle of Penns Woods red, white or rosé
  • Cheese fondue with in-season complements for dipping
  • A chocolate treat for dessert

Tasting Room will be open from noon to 9pm, with the last seating being at 8:00.

Guests will watch chocolate-making demonstrations, participate in an English country dance, delight in historical chocolate pairings, and create their own Victorian Valentines. 

The Radnor Hotel is serving a special Valentine’s Day-themed Champagne Sunday Brunch! On February 10th.  Nothing bad ever happens around a luscious chocolate fountain, so bring your sweetheart to the their famous “Best of the Main Line” buffet, you’ll find all your favorite sweet and savory breakfast items, hearty lunchtime dishes, and a dessert display that includes that Premium Belgian Chocolate Fountain! If you love classical music, there are two amazing concerts on the Sunday prior to Valentine’s Day: 

Delaware County Symphony’s first Chamber Concert of the season is Sunday the 10th at 3pm and at the Meagher Theater at Neumann University.  In a performance that is cheekily titled “No Strings Attached” the concert features their Percussion and Brass ensembles, as well as their Woodwinds section.  The piece is Concertante for Two Clarinets by Franz Tausch. 

The Lansdowne Symphony also performs on the 10th at 3pm at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, with an outstanding program that features:

  • Smyth: Overture to the ‘The Wrecked’
  • Walton: Viola concerto, with Roberto Diaz
  • Brahms: Symphony no. 4 in E Minor
